“…they stumble that run fast” – Friar Lawrence

The literal meaning of this quote is that when you rush into things you will encounter problems. Friar Lawrence was giving advice that Romeo should be careful when making decisions and think about things instead of being impulsive as we already know that he is. This is also about Romeo and Juliet and how they have already decided to marry after knowing each other for only a few hours; we can expect they will encounter struggle because of how fast they are going, not taking time to stop and consider what they’re doing and see the consequences.
