Is love an invention created by humans?

I don’t think that love is an invention, because we can’t control or make up our emotions. Our feelings are controlled by hormones and chemical reactions in our brains – they may vary based on other circumstances but they are technically ‘manufactured’ in our brains. I believe that humans are the only species capable of love whether it be because of the  complexity of our brains and their ability to feel emotions – or our ability to communicate with someone and form a bond with them. In conclusion I believe that love wasn’t invented by humans as such but an emotions that evolved with the human brain.
